Life
Today was a tough day...actually it just sucked! Yesterday my dear friend and colleague learned her husband had suffered a massive stroke. Today she let me know that he passed away. From the initial information, this was very unexpected. He works out of state, so she has had to travel away from home. I pray the angels wrap their arms around Carolynn, her children and all of her family.

I posted this on my Instagram account..."Live every second, every minute, every hour, and everyday like it's your last. Tomorrow, the day after and everyday after that, challenge yourself to do something you've always wanted to do but haven't. Live life with no regrets."

We always say "I'll do that tomorrow." What if tomorrow isn't there? Or what if your tomorrow isn't what you expected? Don't live a life filled with "later" and "what if." Do your absolute best to make a difference in your own life, as well as the lives of those who mean the most to you.

Four Vials
Visited the endocrinologist today. I'm hopeful that my "busted" thyroid is just "re-busted" which would explain the last three, crappy months! Fingers crossed for getting a new dose!

Family Dinner
April was the Jensen's turn to host Family Dinner. Chad's great idea...Greece!! After some searching on the internet the menu was set:
Cocktails: Greek Mojitos & Sidecars
Appetizer: Greek Chicken Pizza
Main Course: Traditional gyro meat (a combo of lamb & beef baked in a loaf), homemade pitas and Tzatziki Sauce
Side Dish: Greek Orzo Salad
Dessert: Baklava

Everything turned out great...and that's just not my biased opinion! :)

And the random, non-family dinner pic is of the CRAZY golfers that we saw most of the day in the COLD, WINDY, SNOWY weather. I love my golf, but really!?!?!?

Wind
Today reminded me of how sucky the wind is! I'm glad spring is here, but the wind could have been left behind!

Today's pics...found a few little patches of moss on the course today. They sort of looked like they were blooming. Just thought it was cool.

Second...lots of thought regarding tonight's cocktail. ;) Went for a "long time, no see - or drink" Gin & Tonic.

Spring Buds
We made it out to the backyard before golf and got the grasses & plants trimmed. Went back out this evening and found several of the bushes budding out. Just today the aspen tree managed to pop out some new leaves. The photo is of the sumac. (Liked this one off my Canon better than my Instagram pic.)

Frosty Morning
Last night we got some much needed moisture in the form of both rain and snow...ended up with an icy layer on everything.

On a Walk
Today I took a walk on the trails behind the school. Came across some lots of cactus and the spring wildflowers are starting to come out. This one is a favorite of mine. A virtual "birthday flower" for my mom today...Happy Birthday and I Love You! :)

First Sightings
This morning before headed off to work there were two tree swallows flying around the nest box under the deck...was disappointed that I didn't see them again tonight.

This evening this little guy was out and about...the first hummingbird of the season!! Once again, not the greatest photo but glad to have them back!

Seedings
Throughout the summer, I always enjoy and appreciate the flowers and vegetables that my mom pots up for me. I got the chance to see them all in their "pre-potted" stage this weekend. We started doing some replanting, but it was too warm in the greenhouse.

Easter Sunday
Glad I came home to Burlington late yesterday for the Easter weekend...great day with all the family! Including 4-6AM when I was snuggling with my 2 1/2 year old nephew.:)

A few different pics for today. The first one is of the tulips that one of my sister brought home.

Next is a center pivot my dad and I went to check on after everyone headed home.

And the the third is of the start of the sunset through the front trees. It was such a beautiful, calm evening here...loved it.

Tournament
Made our way back to The Ridge for the Troon Challenge today. We lucked out and the weather held off until the end of our round. Unfortunately we lost by three strokes... :(

After we were done, I made my way out to Burlington for Easter weekend. Made it safely...all on my own! ;)

It's Friday, Friday!!
After a very long, but very successful, testing week - it's finally Friday!! Had to celebrate with Happy Hour at The Union. Looking forward to golf and family this Easter weekend!!

New Bloom
A couple of days ago, just after the snow, the first tulip made an appearance. And it's yellow...one of my favorite colors!

Add On
With the sunset tonight, I had to post a pic.

We Want Out!
The house plants that are outdoor plants during the summer are longing to get outside!! Looking forward to things warming up!

CMAS
Well, we have finished our first day of the new state assessment for social studies and science. We used all but about four computers between the 4th & 5th grade. Overall, everything went great - the Internet stayed up (knock on wood) and we only had a few login errors. Hopefully day 2 will be even better!

12 Hours
Well, we didn't get the 12 inches predicted, or even half of that. One photo from the AM, one from the PM.

Spring in the Rockies
This afternoon it seemed to be a little sketchy as to how much snow we were going to get. At least tonight we have some small "drifts" on the deck...still not sure on that 12 inch forecast!

Had to get a desert shot in for the day...my little cactus are fortunately still living indoors. They don't know what they've been missing in the land of the sun!

Pre-Storm
Well, we are supposed to get 6-12 inches of snow tomorrow. We managed to get out and play golf this afternoon. It was a great afternoon and then a beautiful evening (no wind around) considering the storm on the way. You've got to love springtime in Colorado!

Friday Fun
Both photos today are from Bear Dance. The weather was absolutely PERFECT for some golf after school today! I was afraid that it would be windy, but that wasn't the case. Of course I couldn't resist taking a pic of the BEST number in the entire world! ;)

When we put our clubs in the car, this fun little thing was parked behind us. (I would have tried to get a better pic, but I didn't want the owner to get worried about my stalking.) I think this might have to be my new summer car!!

We've Got Leaves!
I came home from a different direction today and realized that our front bush has green leaves. I was very excited!! I also have a few more mini-daffodils that are blooming...won't be long now!!

Spring Day
The weather was great today. Loved the clouds in the west this AM. Had originally planned to play preseason golf, but after the two golf league meetings Monday & Tuesday nights, decided to come home and get some work done instead.

Spring Toes
Yesterday we were all in boots for the snow and today we had sandals for the sun. Kanoi had the idea for today's pic...after telling her I was disappointed that I missed my pic yesterday. (It was an absolute crazy day and busy night.) You'll notice I started getting some golf-shoe tan lines last week. I got a new pair of shoes at the end of last season, so my "tan pattern" is new...and still weird! I will have to work on evening them out this summer.

Spring has Sprung
This was a great scene to come home to...or at least wake up to on my first morning home! While in Arizona last week, we missed a fairly decent snow storm...oh darn!! At this time of year I always wish I had more bulbs blooming...but when September/October rolls around, I am so done with gardening that I have no motivation to plant bulbs. So I need to suck it up this fall and get with the program!!

Back Home
Well, we had a great time in Scottsdale/Phoenix this last week. The weather was great, even a little "cold" at times, the golf was fun, and we had some great food & drink! I do have to admit I did the "tourist" thing and purchased my cacti...even a saguaro!

Had to do at least one selfie! :)

View from the 2nd tee box at Talking Stick.
Take Backs!
Well, after today's golf outing to Talking Stick, I think I might have to take back all of my "negative" talk about the other Troon courses that we've played down here is AZ. Today was by far our least favorite...and definitely not worth the two certificates we had to pay. We both agreed that we would have rather played any of the other three courses we've already played. And with all the waiting we had to do, there wasn't anything cool to take photos of...not even one cactus! Oh well...

Some type of ground squirrel...saw them everywhere on the course.

On the course looking at the resort.
The hibiscus on our patio.

Umbrella on our patio.

The #1 Tee Box from the Pinnacle Course at Troon North.
In Search of the "Best" Troon Course
When looking at the Troon courses in Arizona, we got a number of recommendations and everyone had their favorites. From everything we heard, Troon North was going to be the "it" of the AZ Troon courses. I guess coming to AZ, there were certain "Troon" expectations that I had and I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. Just hearing what others had to say about the courses down here sometimes made me feel that what we were maybe missing something in Colorado. Well, I whole-heartedly disagree with that. Don't get me wrong, they have been great courses and we've enjoyed playing them, but I think we have some pretty great courses back in CO.

So...on to today's photos. Let me begin by saying someone in our foursome got a HOLE IN ONE!!!!! It wasn't Chad or I (even though we were probably more excited then the guy who actually had it!)

What a "pre" hole-in-one looks like! Hole #8.

Yes...it's a yucca, but it has a beautiful flower!

Us. :)

Favorite number...that's all I got!

Yes...I need one of these too!!! I'm sure it will cuddle up closely with my Gamble's Quail!

Had plans to go back to the Citizen Public House on Friday, but decided to go back today. Enjoyed another Pyrate's Eye and some sea scallops.

Sea Scallops were yummy!

The Boulders
Well, we had high hopes going into today...not so much. The course was nice, but not all that. Still happier with our Colorado Troon course...The Ridge. The one wish I had was that there would be more to take photos of while we waited FOREVER on EVERY hole!!

Oh yea...my favorite quail! They were on the #1 tee box.

"My" saguaro. :)
Spring in the desert!
The green, center reminded me of an anemone.

"Linner" at Citizen Public House. If you are near Old Town Scottsdale, this is a must!!
