Had to repost from Instagram & Facebook...
Piece of advice guys...when you see a lady trying to pry open the flap to the fuel tank, don't say, "Doesn't it open from inside the car?" Go with something like, "Is there a chance you're having trouble with your power locking system? Try the emergency opening mechanism inside the back trip panel. "Now this would actually be helpful!!

Both photos today are from Bear Dance. The weather was absolutely PERFECT for some golf after school today! I was afraid that it would be windy, but that wasn't the case. Of course I couldn't resist taking a pic of the BEST number in the entire world! ;)
When we put our clubs in the car, this fun little thing was parked behind us. (I would have tried to get a better pic, but I didn't want the owner to get worried about my stalking.) I think this might have to be my new summer car!!

I know this photo of my car wheel probably seems random and isn't of high quality, but I was so thankful that it was still intact. This evening while I was traveling through an intersection here in town, another driver ran a red light and hit the car right in front of me. Fortunately, no one was hurt.

Well, after a number of hours in various dealerships and countless hours of Internet research...I have a new car!! We were looking at several different cars and had it narrowed down to the Audi Q5 and Cadillac SRX...as you can see the German engineering won. (It was fun taking home the car that had a big bow on it - we did leave the bow at the dealership.) So far I LOVE IT!! It handles great in the snow and I feel so much safer. It wasn't that I really felt unsafe in my Acura TSX, but I really enjoy the fact that I don't have to get a running start just to get up and in the driveway. I have to say it did feel a little weird purchasing a car on Christmas Eve.

Well, my father had to raise three daughters...I doubt that contributes to any of his grey hair. ;o)
Anyway, I'm sure it goes without saying that he was protective of his daughters. Always making sure we had enough gas in our car, calling him when we made it to our destination, could change a tire, and just being prepared in general.
I'm not even sure when he got me the jumper cables, maybe him or my mother would know that, but I'm guessing it had to be when I was in college. Well, I still have them today and am proud to say that I have been able to use them twice this year at work! There have been two instances when a parent, there to pick up a student, has had trouble starting their car. When the announcement came over the intercom, "If anyone has jumper cables, could you please go to the front of the school?" I was ready and jumped into action!
As we helped the folks get their cars started, I even made the comment, "My dad would be so proud that I'm using these." So thanks papa for helping me prepared for life...you never know when you might need some jumper cables.
