Spring has Sprung!
Today was the first day of spring. The daffodils and tulips out front are beginning to make their appearance!
Had some fun tonight and made the Matchbox Rockets that Chad found online. After some trial and error we got one to go about 15-20 feet. I hope the boys will enjoy them!

Missed the chance last night to get a great pick of our last "official" night of league...koozie, fall colors, sunset, money pile...so many to choose from, but not photos.
I did manage to get two tonight on a "Faux Friday". We will be working tomorrow while the kids enjoy a three-day weekend.
The first pick is a new bourbon recipe and in honor of the new season...."Turning Leaves" and it was yummy!!
The second pick is of my elephant year plant on the back patio.

Yard Work
With no golf again today, I made my way outside. We are at the edge of needing some new bark, but with our focus on new flooring right now, I had to do some "fluffing". Even though fluffing SUCKS, it looks great afterwards! I still have about a fourth of the yard to do. I also managed to get several new day lilies planted.

Today reminded me of how sucky the wind is! I'm glad spring is here, but the wind could have been left behind!
Today's pics...found a few little patches of moss on the course today. They sort of looked like they were blooming. Just thought it was cool.
Second...lots of thought regarding tonight's cocktail. ;) Went for a "long time, no see - or drink" Gin & Tonic.

Seedings
Throughout the summer, I always enjoy and appreciate the flowers and vegetables that my mom pots up for me. I got the chance to see them all in their "pre-potted" stage this weekend. We started doing some replanting, but it was too warm in the greenhouse.

New Bloom
A couple of days ago, just after the snow, the first tulip made an appearance. And it's yellow...one of my favorite colors!

Add On
With the sunset tonight, I had to post a pic.

Spring in the Rockies
This afternoon it seemed to be a little sketchy as to how much snow we were going to get. At least tonight we have some small "drifts" on the deck...still not sure on that 12 inch forecast!

Had to get a desert shot in for the day...my little cactus are fortunately still living indoors. They don't know what they've been missing in the land of the sun!

We've Got Leaves!
I came home from a different direction today and realized that our front bush has green leaves. I was very excited!! I also have a few more mini-daffodils that are blooming...won't be long now!!

"Eventful" Saturday
Due to the fact I'm still holding on to a cold, my nights have been filled with tossing, turning, and some crazy golf dreams. I unfortunately was unable to take advantage of a non-alarm morning. (I also couldn't decide on which photo to post...so I've shared them all.)
Up early, I decided to check out the local "re-opened" bakery and local coffee shop. Donuts looked great at the shop...not as impressive when I got them home. :(
I will say the coconut theme must imply that I'm in need of a beach & bubbles vacation...I miss my sharks!!
On my way home I finally saw the first bluebird in the neighborhood. Crappy picture, but good sign. (Yes...there is a male bluebird in the top of the tree.)

Despite the cold, windy morning I figured it was about time to get my flower & veggie pots cleaned up from last summer. I am definitely looking forward to planting time.
We had some visitors this afternoon...crashing for a few hours, anxiously awaiting an offer on their house. As the day came to a close I had to decide which night cap to go with. Today I had to stick with my vodka. :)

Soon it Will be Spring...Hopefully
The day started out with a snow and ice mixture frozen to the western side of the trees...the scrub oak looked very cool. So I decided to take the new Canon out back.

After taking the leaf/branch photos I headed out to get the mail and took a quick look for any "green" out front and came across these little daffodils making their way to the sun after a long winter.

One Month Later
Well, the Anaheim Chili plants are looking pretty darn good after just one month. They had been reduced to stems and just a few leaves after the hail storm last month.
