Amazing Fall Colors I am sad, but excited, to say that today was the first time I've ever really gone up to the mountains to enjoy the fall colors. They were beautiful! I took Hwy 67 from Divide to Cripple Creek. I left home in the early afternoon and ended up arriving just in time for the rain. Fortunately I was patient and stuck around...it was well worth my time. Here are just a couple of the photos I took...will be posting some HDRs hopefully a little later this week.
Faux Friday Missed the chance last night to get a great pick of our last "official" night of league...koozie, fall colors, sunset, money pile...so many to choose from, but not photos. I did manage to get two tonight on a "Faux Friday". We will be working tomorrow while the kids enjoy a three-day weekend. The first pick is a new bourbon recipe and in honor of the new season...."Turning Leaves" and it was yummy!! The second pick is of my elephant year plant on the back patio.
Goodbye Summer Well, as I'm posting this...it's officially fall! We've had some crazy weather today with clouds and rain. As I was making my way back home, I managed to snap a quick pic. The first pic of the day was my disappointing order from Panera. It was supposed to be a Mediterranean Egg White Sandwich...yea, not so much! Surprised I didn't hear anything from my @panerabread Tweet or #panerabread Instagram.
Golf Tournament Chad was double-booked for the day, so I had to join his friends at their annual tournament at The Ridge. Eleven of my eighteen drives isn't too bad! Also managed to pull out long drive for women. Our team managed 3rd place, should have done better...but we had a great time.
Almost Friday In honor of Throwback Thursday We are beginning to clear out everything on the main floor for our new hardwoods...YEA!! I'm quickly remembering what it's like to move....YUCK!! As I was cleaning out the hall closet, I came across our team golf towel from my days at CSE. I might have to enlist my mom to fix the lettering. And I had to enjoy a little wine with my ginger pork. :)
Out on the Trail Came across just a few bushes beginning to show their fall colors on my walk behind the school today. Not sure that I'm ready to let go of summer just yet. If you look closely, you can see the moon.
Summer...Fall...Winter??? Today's weather was a little confused as to which season it actually is. Woke up to some frosty snow on the plants. Looking forward to the warm weekend. Not willing to give up my golfing just yet!
New Marker We managed to have a great night for league...in between two crappy days of weather. I was able to swap my boring white, star for a more fun, risque marker.
Started my day off with a little surprise from my Sneaky Bison...it was like they knew I needed a little extra caffeine and energy after my late night. And then we got to watch Jack for a few hours this evening...stuffed animals, trains, football figures, coloring, and "being strong" getting over the back of the couch. You've got to LOVE nephews!!
Concert on a School Night We had a great time tonight...AFI as the special guest...opening act was Thirty Seconds to Mars...and then came Linkin Park!! AFI I could take or leave, but LOVED 30 Seconds & LPark. It was a great concert!!
Fun Day on the Course Ally joined me today for some golf at Bear Dance. We had a great time playing with some other golf friends. As usual, Ally put her positive spin on everything and found this "lovely" bunker. Hadn't noticed this all summer! The Negroni Cocktail Sphere photo is not one that I took, but I think I really want one of these! I think I could put it to very good use!
BMW Championship We originally had weekly passes to this event, but glad we sold those and got tickets just for today. We had a great day...enjoyed the Palmer Club tickets so we could hang out in the bleachers and see everyone come through the 9th green. For those of you who know me, I had one golfer to see today...got to see him a few times. Even got busted trying to get a closer photo...oh well! Such a fun atmosphere!
Almost Annual Well, I had to keep up with our "Almost Employee of the Month" theme at work and host the "Almost Annual Back to School Party" at the Jensen household. I'm not sure which meteorologist to thank, but we were able to "enjoy" the September monsoons these last few days!! (I'm a farm girl...that's why I chose the word enjoy!!) Needless to say, with all of the late summer activities and crazy weather, we had a fun FAC tonight! It actually made me want to "get my 4% red on!"
No Luck Made my way to the Super Target this evening...with hopes of finding some new Oreos. No cookies, just M&M's. And they tasted nothing like pumpkin spice. The wait continues!
It's Football Time! One thing that excites me about fall...football season!! (I still HATE the fact I get less sunlight!!!) We once again hosted the annual draft party for Chad's league. Excited for the Red Zone Quadbox...hope to finally win something this year!
Day Three Woke up on our final morning. My dad and Renee went fishing, while Dave, Kena (their dog) and I hiked the mountain at the front of our campsite. I thought I was in fairly good shape...I was rethinking that this morning. It was a good view at the top, just not what we had hoped for. We had a GREAT weekend and ended the summer camping season with a GREAT trip!
