Leftover From the Storm
We had our first thunderstorm last night. Fresh rain on the new plants.

Today is Buddy Check 9 Day. Decided to post a pic of my aunt with her siblings. Missing her.

Snow?
Well, today's storm really just ended up being rain and a few flurries. Looking forward to getting some of the white stuff!

I didn't take the Oreo pic...made my sister do the hard work. She has the Oreos "secured" now I just need to get them to try them! Read online tonight that S mores Oreos should be coming out soon!

Rain
We were hopeful that we get a full 18 in before the storm set in, but that didn't happen...only made it 9. The colors were beautiful...hope they make it a little longer!

Is it Really July?
We have had steady rain all day...not a typical July day. I would have loved the day much more had it NOT been Wednesday!! No golf league this week. Checked the rain gauge before it got dark and we were just under 2 inches.

Rain & DMV
The day started with rain and ended with rain...SHOCKER!! We had a storm go through just before 6AM, even included a little thunder and lightning. The day was overcast with crazy clouds and a TON OF HUMIDITY!!. While finishing up the last few holes at Bear Dance there was a storm moving in. We fortunately missed that one. Then of course there was golf league!! We made it to the tee box of #7 before the crap rolled in. But we FINISHED!!

Prior to hitting the links I had to stop by the DMV to renew my license. It was actually very painless and the gals that work there were very nice. I was in and out in probably 20 minutes!

Monsoon
Well, tonight was a perfect example of what the Colorado Monsoon Season looks like in Colorado. We ended up with three bands of heavy rain moving through. Between the small amount of rain Friday night and tonight, we ended up with 2.60 inches.

HDR Photos
Chad worked his HDR magic on the storm photos I took last week...I love them!! I'm anxious to get some other shots and eventually start learning the process myself.

Is it Really June???
We were so excited to be headed out to Burlington to play with my dad in a 3-man scramble. That excited met some dissappointment when we woke up and saw the weather...cold, wind and a little mist/rain mixed in. We did pretty well the first round, but not as well the second round. :( We still managed to have fun. We are beginning to plan our comeback in September!

As we were golfing, we heard that there was bad weather up at home...once again. We managed to hit the storm around Arriba...crazy clouds, wind, rain, and lightning. We then drove ALL the way home in RAIN! We missed the hail and saw a lot of it piled up next to the road as we headed west. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we missed it again since my flowers were all out! The storm itself was huge! I had to take a pic of the radar.

Our Turn
All this week we've managed to miss out on the severe weather. Today we had a little more around Castle Rock. It arrived quickly and left quickly. We ended up with almost an inch of rain, some hail and a few close lightning strikes. Nothing as severe what some areas had earlier in the week...thank goodness! Everything on the fairway and green is hail.

Yes, It's Still Winter
It was 60 degrees yesterday and today's storm wasn't supposed to roll in until 5:00. Since the Audi had a "misfire on cylinder 5" earlier in the week, I was chauffeured to school and it was a good thing...the storm rolled in early and the Lexis wouldn't have made it far. Today's first pic was looking out the door waiting for my ride home.

The second pic is at Bubbles...we went to the monthly wine tasting class. Tonight's theme was Sicilian food and wines. We came home with three out of the four bottles we tasted, along with some good menu ideas for future family dinners.

Golf????

Wednesday evening means golf league...even on nights like tonight! I actually wouldn't have played tonight if we wouldn't have had a scramble tournament. They had been calling for rain all day and it was raining off and on. At the beginning of our tournament we were lucky in the fact that the wind died down. Just two minutes after I got this photo, it started raining - with small hail mixed in. Other than some wet pants...we survived!

First Storm

Well, today we had our first "storm." I was out for a walk during my lunch and noticed that the clouds were rolling in fast. I cut my walk short and just in time...the rain and hail began just about 4 minutes after I got inside. The hail was small and I was able to enjoy the smell of the rain.

This morning I also saw my first pair of swallows hanging out on the deck.

Evening storms.

Well, we had rain again this evening. Wasn't too much...most of the storm stayed north of us here in Castle Rock. We have been able to enjoy the wonderful smell of rain for several hours. Wish I could bottle that smell...I'd make a million! :)

Summer Storm.

The weather has been ususual this spring and summer.  We've had a good deal of rain, some hail and even a funnel cloud our two.

Last night we had a quick, but heavy rain move through.  No hail today, just lots of thunder, lightning and then a beautiful rainbow.
