Yard Work
With no golf again today, I made my way outside. We are at the edge of needing some new bark, but with our focus on new flooring right now, I had to do some "fluffing". Even though fluffing SUCKS, it looks great afterwards! I still have about a fourth of the yard to do. I also managed to get several new day lilies planted.

Morning at Home
I was disappointed that I didn't get to play golf this morning, but I LOVED being able to sit out back and enjoy the morning sun. Parker even joined me. :)

Great Mornings
We've gone out early the last several days...usually teeing off just before 7AM. The weather has been GREAT! This is the 17th hole...one of my goals for the summer...my first hole-in-one!

Summer
Well, the warm weather has finally arrived. (The minute I get hot, I just think back to the cold, windy spring...then I appreciate it more!)
Had to fix a martini in honor of the first Friday of summer! CHEERS!

Bluebirds
Managed to get a peek inside the bluebird box...four white eggs! I a lot regarding egg color from the gal that runs Castle Rock's Colorado Bluebird Project. There are three different causes for the white eggs...age, health, and genetics. I guess the white eggs occur less than 5% of the time.

I feel like summer vacation has finally started!! Computer imaging and conferences filled the first two weeks of break. Today started off very foggy, but ended up being a perfect day! The first 18 holes sucked!! But the next 18 holes were one of my best rounds!!

Catching Up
I feel like summer vacation has finally started!! Other then feeling like crap, this weekend's camping trip was GREAT!! It was nice to get away and spend time with family. My parents got me a new reel for my birthday last year and today's first pic is of my purchases at Cabela's...LOVE this store!! Had to get some new spinners for the trip! The boys were mad at me because I caught the first fish...on a spinner and not a fly. :)
I will give my dad credit for pushing me to try my sister's fly-fishing gear and get "in" the river. I will be making a trip back to Cabela's for some hip waders. Being in the river was much more enjoyable...and it helped me save my spinner several times!!
The not so fun part of the trip was the four hour ride home. But Jack and I made the most of it...we managed to escape the shark and make it home safely!!!

1st Camping Trip
This isn't a photo I took today...it was from August a few years ago. Just getting in the mood for our first family camping trip of the summer to Camp Hale!! After the last couple of weeks, SUPER excited to be unplugged, except for my camera! :)

Wind + Storms = Wednesday Golf League
The day was great...until it was time for league. We've all gotten really used to crappy weather on Wednesdays! We did manage to miss the storm and enjoyed a beautiful rainbow as we finished up the last hole.

Laptops |
I received a phone call this morning from the UPS driver letting me know he was ready to deliver our 49 laptops at the school. Literally...he was at the school...good thing I only live a few minutes away.
I got the computer boxes unloaded from the large shipping box and into the lab. Even managed to get a few imaged while I was there.
One of the two desktop pallets. |
Now to wait for the 270 Chromebooks and find the time to get back to school to get today's delivery imaged.

HDR Photos
Chad worked his HDR magic on the storm photos I took last week...I love them!! I'm anxious to get some other shots and eventually start learning the process myself.

Unexpected
Well, I expected this AM to be cool...not "freezing my butt off"!!! By the time I decided to take the pic you could see blue sky.
And for the second unexpected of the day...a random, red, star balloon. I've been alone at school the last several days with the computers. When I went out in the hall this afternoon, came across the balloon...just thought it was fun!

Boring
All I have for you tonight is Poppin' Pebbles. It's funny that the "fun" part of this cereal looks like peas! We managed to get our round of golf in for league tonight even though it was a little cold and windy for several holes.

We were so excited to be headed out to Burlington to play with my dad in a 3-man scramble. That excited met some dissappointment when we woke up and saw the weather...cold, wind and a little mist/rain mixed in. We did pretty well the first round, but not as well the second round. :( We still managed to have fun. We are beginning to plan our comeback in September!
As we were golfing, we heard that there was bad weather up at home...once again. We managed to hit the storm around Arriba...crazy clouds, wind, rain, and lightning. We then drove ALL the way home in RAIN! We missed the hail and saw a lot of it piled up next to the road as we headed west. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we missed it again since my flowers were all out! The storm itself was huge! I had to take a pic of the radar.

Birthday Celebration
Today we celebrated Jack's 3rd birthday..."Cars" style.
Cool grasshopper was found on the front of the Lexus while we were outside watching Jack drive his new Lightning McQueen car around.
And finally...made it out to Burlington for a golf tournament tomorrow. Had to get a pic of the wheat. Here's a funny side-note...the Twitter user yesglutenfree favorited my tweet of this pic...interesting.

Busy Day
Today was the first "official" day of summer vacation. We had a 7:09 tee time and I was looking forward to some warm weather...not so much. We had post-storm winds that made it a little cold.

I didn't post the pic yesterday, but a male blue bird was out on the deck with a piece of grass. Today the female was hard at work hauling in nesting materials...very exciting!!
We had some exciting storm clouds...managed to get a tornado warning. We saw a lot of rotation in the clouds, but never a funnel.
