Oh Hail!!
We've been lucky ALL summer and we've missed the hail portion of all the storms...not tonight. I was able to move around the flower pots, but the veggies on the back fence didn't fair so well. The zucchini was looking the best out of everything. Hopefully it will bounce back quickly!

HDR Photos
Chad worked his HDR magic on the storm photos I took last week...I love them!! I'm anxious to get some other shots and eventually start learning the process myself.

We were so excited to be headed out to Burlington to play with my dad in a 3-man scramble. That excited met some dissappointment when we woke up and saw the weather...cold, wind and a little mist/rain mixed in. We did pretty well the first round, but not as well the second round. :( We still managed to have fun. We are beginning to plan our comeback in September!
As we were golfing, we heard that there was bad weather up at home...once again. We managed to hit the storm around Arriba...crazy clouds, wind, rain, and lightning. We then drove ALL the way home in RAIN! We missed the hail and saw a lot of it piled up next to the road as we headed west. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we missed it again since my flowers were all out! The storm itself was huge! I had to take a pic of the radar.

We were keeping our eye on radar and we getting lucky with the storms...luck finally ran out! We tried to ride it out, but that wasn't going to happen. LOTS of rain and LOTS of hail!
We headed over to the Kenyon's for ribs that Dave fixed on the Green Egg. Had to post this pick of Ryan's watermelon. He enjoyed just taking one big bite out of each piece.

All this week we've managed to miss out on the severe weather. Today we had a little more around Castle Rock. It arrived quickly and left quickly. We ended up with almost an inch of rain, some hail and a few close lightning strikes. Nothing as severe what some areas had earlier in the week...thank goodness! Everything on the fairway and green is hail.

One Hail of a Storm!
Well, not did we get one storm tonight, but two...and they knocked the crap out of the house, roof, flowers, and garden.

Well, today we had our first "storm." I was out for a walk during my lunch and noticed that the clouds were rolling in fast. I cut my walk short and just in time...the rain and hail began just about 4 minutes after I got inside. The hail was small and I was able to enjoy the smell of the rain.
This morning I also saw my first pair of swallows hanging out on the deck.
