Day Two
We started out the day with a bit of adventure...a search for flour. Success at one of the shops in Florissant. We were also able to find feed, beer, liquor, and game processing!
In the afternoon I jumped on the treadmill and enjoyed the course of the South Platte up close and personal.
Day One
Enjoyed the first day of camping at Eleven Mile. We started off the day by heading back east to Florissant and dig some digging for fossils. We had a great time and found some pretty cool specimens. Later in the afternoon we dodged the afternoon storms and played some baseball.
Family Camping...Begin!
Shortly after work today, I was picked up by my sister and nephews...we headed south to Eleven Mile Canyon for the family camping trip. Decided to fix one of my favorite drinks to get the long weekend underway.
Happy Birthday!
Have to give a shout-out to my youngest nephew who celebrated his 3rd birthday today.
Enjoyed a yummy Norteno Margarita...okay...maybe two! ;)
Rainbows and Fins
The day started out with a wonderful rainbow...just enough sprinkles to create this in the west, over the golf course.
The day ended enjoying Wednesday golf league with cold ones in my new Shark Week koozies!
Storms & Cookies
Forgetting my tennis shoes, made me stick to the sidewalk around the field and watch the afternoon storms role in.
Chad picked up a package of the what I think is the newest Oreo flavor...caramel apple. I think it might be my least favorite. I liked the caramel, but not the apple. :( Looking forward to the next flavor!
Restaurant Week...Summer Style
We only made one reservation for the week...Shanahan's. We had yummy filets and a great evening with Matt & Dana!!
Prior to our evening out, my "sneaky bison" at work got my Monday started off GREAT with a baggie of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups...absolute YUM!!
Birthday Party!
Got together with family today to celebrate Ryan's birthday. He had a great time and with all of his new tractors is ready for some farming!
Finally Friday!
Didn't have too much trouble selecting the drink for this evening!
Afternoon Storms
Had a meeting up in DTC this afternoon. Heard the rain and thunder...when we came out the rainbow was shining bright in the east.
On the way home, found a different flavor of Oreos to try...even though it's been out for a while.
FINISHED!!
I actually took this photo on Friday, just before leaving school. As you can see, the pile of Chromebooks is GONE...YEA!!!! And as of tomorrow, the CSE Computer Lab will officially be open!
Morning Sun
While I was running on the treadmill this morning, the sunlight shining on one of the deck pillars caught my eye. I just really liked the way it looked.
So Damn Close!!
We had a beautiful morning out at Bear Dance...perfect weather. You may have seen my "Hole in Three" post just over a week ago. Well today, on the same hole, I almost made it a hole in one! The pin was in a similar location...good looking tee shot (thought it was going to be a little too far left)...my ball began rolling towards the hole...it kept rolling...and then I could see it move off course a little as it rolled over the EDGE OF THE CUP...finally it came to rest about 12 inches past the hole...CRAP! Today would have been a GREAT day for a hole in one!!
Sweet Corn!!
Got a cooler full of sweet corn tonight thanks to my mom and dad. After their recommendation, we decided to give the "no silks" microwave cooking method a try. Awesome!! Don't know if I'll ever boil another pot of water for cooking corn again!

John's Ranch
Before heading up to meet everyone else camping, we played in Chad's Member-Guest Tournament. We won 1st place, low gross in Group B and almost won low net as well!
We were finally able to join the rest of the family at John's ranch near Walden. We had the perfect spot near a small, little lake...and all to ourselves! We had a great time catching huge rainbow, cutthroat, and cuttbow trouts. The weekend was wonderful and I managed to get a little snuggle time with the nephews!

Hole-in-One...Sort Of
We were getting a late round in tonight at Bear Dance. We had caught up to the group in front of us and we were on the 12th hole...a par three. To kill some time, I hit two extra tee shots and wouldn't you know it, the third one went in!! CRAP!!!
First Day of School
The day finally arrived! All of the nearly 830 students made their way to CSE. Here's to another great school year!
More Oreos
Had to give the Root Beer Float Oreos a try...glad I did!! Looking forward to more flavors.
Nephew Burrito
We had family dinner tonight. It was a great night...with no rain...so the boys got out the slip-and-slide. One got a little cold, so he was wrapped up burrito-style and set in the sun to warm.
I also managed to get a photo of some flowers in my backyard.
Veggies...Finally!
I finally got something from my Earthboxes in the backyard. I'm ready to make some zucchini bread, jalapeno poppers and spicy margaritas! As for the tomatoes...not sure yet. They might be the only ones I get if they don't start looking better.
Enjoyed a mix of White Rascal & Hard Cider this afternoon...love summer cocktails and taking a break from the usual!
