 Visitor
We have started a new joke that the squirrel who comes up to the deck is Parker's boyfriend...well he paid her a visit today. He started out in the tree outside our bedroom, went down and then came up onto the deck. Their was a lot of running from window to window for Parker, but the two never came face-to-face through the glass.

Deer
This morning as I was driving to work I spotted 4-5 bucks on the side of the hill...I'm guessing this is the crew that recently visited our backyard. Then, on the way home, there were two on the other side of the rode sparing with each other. I didn't get a photo of the sparing...just them looking at me.

New Project

Well, Kelly and I got a new project underway today...creating some animal letters for the soon to be arriving Jack. We managed to get the animals picked out (I still need to create the patterns for those) and we got the first coat of paint on for the letters. I will be sure to update you on the progress.

Healsville Animal Sanctuary.

As I posted last week, I will be headed to Australia at the end of May with four of my students. We received an email that highlighted the residents of one stop on our itinerary - Healesville Animal Sanctuary, home to the Australian Wildlife Health Centre.

The Sanctuary has played a major roll in the recovery efforts from the Victorian Bush fires earlier this year. Some of the sanctuary’s most common refugees were injured koalas, as they were often too slow to get out of burning areas, and many received burns on their paws. Once recovered, these koalas will return to the wild, and released into areas not affected by the recent ravaging wildfires. We are all county the days!
