Yes, It's Still Winter

It was 60 degrees yesterday and today's storm wasn't supposed to roll in until 5:00. Since the Audi had a "misfire on cylinder 5" earlier in the week, I was chauffeured to school and it was a good thing...the storm rolled in early and the Lexis wouldn't have made it far. Today's first pic was looking out the door waiting for my ride home.

The second pic is at Bubbles...we went to the monthly wine tasting class. Tonight's theme was Sicilian food and wines. We came home with three out of the four bottles we tasted, along with some good menu ideas for future family dinners.

CSE Getting Their Art On!
We spent a few hours at the local Arts On Fire studio here in Castle Rock painting some fabulous pottery. It was a lot of fun spending time with everyone and seeing their creative, and sometimes frustrated, side coming out! ;)

Hmmmm....
I have eaten some interesting things over the years: frog legs, meal worms, Rocky Mountain Oysters, dirt (as a kid), but I couldn't bring myself to eat what everyone was calling the "good half" of this Cutie today at lunch. Not sure what was up with it...there were no marks, holes, or weird "places" on it.











The snow was beautiful this morning!! So I decided to add a couple of the Canon pics before going to work...hummingbird feeder and blue bird box...both waiting for spring arrivals!!

Birthday Celebration

I got to help my wonderful friend Ally celebrate her birthday! She had the great idea of having a painting party. All of the "golf ladies" are in the photo and I've included a close-up of mine. We had a great time!!




























Totally off topic...went for a walk today and finally saw a blue bird! It was hanging out near the tennis/basketball courts at school. Still none in the neighborhood or yard.

Not so Green, or Practical
I recently ordered two Vivitar Pro Action Camcorders from WalMart. The cameras didn't come with memory cards, so I had to order them separately. Since the cameras were for school and I was using the PCard, the order ultimately ended up being in four different boxes, with the cameras arriving first. Well today the memory cards arrived, each in their own box. As you can see from the photo, someone in WalMart's packaging department needs a little lesson. And remember...this was just for ONE of the cards! It was probably one of the most ridiculous things I have ever seen!!

Soon it Will be Spring...Hopefully

The day started out with a snow and ice mixture frozen to the western side of the trees...the scrub oak looked very cool. So I decided to take the new Canon out back.

After taking the leaf/branch photos I headed out to get the mail and took a quick look for any "green" out front and came across these little daffodils making their way to the sun after a long winter.

Saturday Morning with Jack
Got some nephew time this morning. We started off with some trains and hot chocolate with "ice cream." (It was actually frozen cool whip...but we went with the ice cream idea.)

After the train we moved on to golf. It was too cold for us to head up to the RHR driving range, so we had to stay inside. :(
