One year ago today I posted a photo of my dusty elliptical. There were two reasons for the dust: our basement was getting finished and it hadn't been used. This photo is of our home gym in the basement...we love it!

Well, after one year, I am proud to announce I have lost 22 pounds! It was an up and down year...some months being better than others. I did have to take a break in July and August due to some minor foot surgery.

One of the things that really helped me stay focused and have an accurate assessment of my workouts and calorie consumption was my Body Bug. This is what the competitors on the Biggest Loser use...and I love it! I have also adjusted my thinking about food - I really evaluate if the calories are worth it or not. I still want to loose a little more weight, but it feels great to be on the right track to good health.

Popcorn!

Fortunately Santa got the memo that we were celebrating early and he managed to make a stop at our house and left a popcorn machine in the basement! We used it right away last night, making popcorn while we watched the Survivor Finale with my parents. It makes yummy popcorn!!! Thanks Santa!

Valentines for everyone.

Well, I missed my first day of posting...okay a couple of days. I did however take pictures on all the days. The basement and family have been the focus of this long weekend. We had many helpers (thanks family!) with getting things in the basement on Saturday. It was great...after moving we ate pizza, drank beer, and played some pool and ping pong.

In the evening, Chad and I had a romantic dinner...in the new basement of course. We had ordered some side dishes from one of our favorite restaurants on Friday and then ran up to a little store nearby for a couple fillets. We also cracked open a favorite bottle of wine and topped off the evening with German Chocolate Brownies and a romantic comedy.

After nearly four months, I finally rediscovered the floor of my dining room.  When we began our basement finishing project we decided to forgo a storage unit and just move our things into other rooms of the house.  This weekend we began moving items back into the basement.  As I was sorting and cleaning, Fiji managed to find one of my empty boxes.

Our lights have lights!

Work on the basement is starting to come to and end...at least we think. We've been told things will be done next Friday and we can start moving things in the following Monday. We had hoped for a Super Bowl Party, but that won't be happening. I guess we'll have to wait until next year...maybe the Bronco's new coach will get them to the big game!

The photo is of one of our bar pendants...there are five in all. Chad picked them out and we've been very excited to get them installed. They went in last week but just got light bulbs yesterday. We are looking forward to seeing the "magma" lights and black granite counter tops...they get finished tomorrow.
