Steve Irwin had a special connection to the Discovery Channel. I'm sure that everyone was as equally shocked by his death as I was. No matter what people say about the details surrounding his death, we can all agree that the world lost an amazing wildlife advocate.
We had the good fortune of visiting his legacy...the Australia Zoo. This isn't like your typical zoo - you have a number of opportunties to get up close and personal with the animals. Knowing that you were visiting the "home" of the Irwins made this experience even more special.
