A Get Together

As I was getting ready this morning I looked out the bedroom window and saw this group of house finches sitting together in the neighbor's tree.

Red House Finch

This little guy was up on the deck railing for an afternoon snack. Not sure why, but all of the finches have been coming up to the deck to eat their sunflower seeds.

Red-feathered friend.

After our several "snow storms" there's been a few new birds showing up in the backyard. The finches are all showing their spring colors.

Not just blue birds.

There are more than just blue birds in my backyard.  This female housefinch was sitting up on our deck piller...with some "fuzz" in her mouth.  I'm assuming that her and her friend, a male sitting just out of the picture, are getting ready to nest.  I look forward to sharing photos of the other birds that visit our yard over the course of the year.
