First Blooms

The mini daffodils once again managed to be the first flowers to bloom this spring...there must be some snow on the way!

More spring.

Spring break began today! When I got home today there was another spring flower in bloom. I can't remember what the name of this one is...maybe my mom can help me.

Some more great blooms!

My amaryllis has now been open for a few days and it looks beautiful.  I'm excited because there's a second bloom that will be opening next week.  I loved the deep, red color in the morning sun.

Today I decided to capture the paperwhites in their full glory...in the morning sunlight. The one thing I forgot about these beautiful, little flowers - they don't have the sweetest smell. I'm still not sure if all of the bulbs will bloom.

New beginnings...

Yesterday I posted a "fairwell" to January photo of the sunset.  Today I decided to post a "welcome" to February photo.  Today's photo is one of the paperwhite flowers that are beginning to open...they are just beginning to show their beauty.

I'm also in need of a new beginning.  Chad and I have been watching our calories - burned and consumed.  After entering my information for this past week, I didn't do so well.  I'm looking forward to the upcoming week as a new beginning - a chance to get back on track.

Well, the wait is over...here is my amaryllis. Not really as exciting as you thought it might be? I decided I had better get a pre-bloom photo up soon since it seems like it may be getting close. (The paperwhites will probably bloom this weekend...they love the southern sun during the day and haven't gotten as tall as they usually do.)
