Back Home
Well, we had a great time in Scottsdale/Phoenix this last week. The weather was great, even a little "cold" at times, the golf was fun, and we had some great food & drink! I do have to admit I did the "tourist" thing and purchased my cacti...even a saguaro!

Had to do at least one selfie! :)

Take Backs!
Well, after today's golf outing to Talking Stick, I think I might have to take back all of my "negative" talk about the other Troon courses that we've played down here is AZ. Today was by far our least favorite...and definitely not worth the two certificates we had to pay. We both agreed that we would have rather played any of the other three courses we've already played. And with all the waiting we had to do, there wasn't anything cool to take photos of...not even one cactus! Oh well...

Some type of ground squirrel...saw them everywhere on the course.

On the course looking at the resort.

The #1 Tee Box from the Pinnacle Course at Troon North.
In Search of the "Best" Troon Course
When looking at the Troon courses in Arizona, we got a number of recommendations and everyone had their favorites. From everything we heard, Troon North was going to be the "it" of the AZ Troon courses. I guess coming to AZ, there were certain "Troon" expectations that I had and I have to say that I'm a little disappointed. Just hearing what others had to say about the courses down here sometimes made me feel that what we were maybe missing something in Colorado. Well, I whole-heartedly disagree with that. Don't get me wrong, they have been great courses and we've enjoyed playing them, but I think we have some pretty great courses back in CO.

So...on to today's photos. Let me begin by saying someone in our foursome got a HOLE IN ONE!!!!! It wasn't Chad or I (even though we were probably more excited then the guy who actually had it!)

What a "pre" hole-in-one looks like! Hole #8.

Yes...it's a yucca, but it has a beautiful flower!

Us. :)

Favorite number...that's all I got!

Yes...I need one of these too!!! I'm sure it will cuddle up closely with my Gamble's Quail!

Had plans to go back to the Citizen Public House on Friday, but decided to go back today. Enjoyed another Pyrate's Eye and some sea scallops.

Sea Scallops were yummy!

The Boulders
Well, we had high hopes going into today...not so much. The course was nice, but not all that. Still happier with our Colorado Troon course...The Ridge. The one wish I had was that there would be more to take photos of while we waited FOREVER on EVERY hole!!

Oh yea...my favorite quail! They were on the #1 tee box.

"My" saguaro. :)
Spring in the desert!
The green, center reminded me of an anemone.

"Linner" at Citizen Public House. If you are near Old Town Scottsdale, this is a must!!

View from the 1st tee box on the Canyons course.
The Phoenician
Well, the first day of golf is in the books and needless to say it was not stellar. At least there was great weather, beautiful scenery, and just the two of us. Couldn't decide on just one pic, so I went with several!

Hummingbird...not sure of the type.

Many of the cactus are blooming.
I love these guys.

Not the greatest photo, but had to get the Gamble's Quail! Made me think of my 4-H Wildlife years when I used to raise them.

Creepy or Cool?

So around 2:30AM, we received notification that our flight was delayed by 2 hours. This was thanks to Google, so we are still unsure if it was creepy or cool. Due to the fact I was somehow connected to Chad for the trip (he hadn't shared any calendars or documents with me), I got the same Google notification on my phone. We tried to look at the positive side to this delay...first, it was on a golfing vacation and not a diving vacation! Second, we were actually notified of a change in our itinerary! On another note...we did fly Spirit Airlines for the first time and I have to say I was very pleased. The one thing you just need to remember with this airline is that everything is A la carte so watch the fine print. If you are looking for a quick trip with minimal luggage, this is the airline for you!

This is only my second time to Phoenix/Scottsdale. As we were flying in, we went by the ASU stadium and then ended up there for the at dinner for my second pic...forgot how cool it was positioned between the rock formations.

Second photo...had to commemorate Chad's first In-N-Out Burger! I had mine a couple of years ago on my BDay in Cali thanks to DENnise!! Very happy to enjoy Animal Style after a long day of travel.

Getting Ready for the Desert
Spring Break is almost here....WOOHOO!! Very excited to be headed to the desert for some golf!!!

(I actually took this photo when we visited Chad's family in AZ for Thanksgiving several years ago.)
